"These are extraordinary results for a Phase I trial," said Dr. Brad Thompson, President and CEO of Oncolytics. "In these patients a stabilization of the tumor or even to achieve even more, is highly unusual."
The trial (REO 010) is comprised of two components. The first is an open-label, dose-escalating, non-randomized study of REOLYSIN (R), which is administered every three weeks intravenously with docetaxel. This section of the study, which was completed in August 2008, the patients were given together with increased doses of intravenous REOLYSIN (R) is the standard-dose docetaxel. The second component of the study include the inclusion of nine additional patients who received the highest dose of REOLYSIN (R) in combination with standard-dose docetaxel. The patients in this study can receive up to eight treatment cycles.
In question are those patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including diagnosed cancer in the upper gastrointestinal tract or bladder, lung, prostate cancers were who were refractory to standard therapy (have not responded) or for which there is no curative therapy is standard. The main objective of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose or Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD), Dose-dependent toxicity or dose-limiting Toxicity (DLT), recommended dose and dosing schedule and safety profile of REOLYSIN (R) when administered in combination with docetaxel. Among the secondary objectives include the assessment of the immune response to the combination of drugs, the body's response to the drug combination compared to chemotherapy as a single measure, and any evidence of antitumor activity.

Legal assistance in case of asbestos scandal in Italy
Suva flashes from the Federal Court
Legal assistance in case of asbestos scandal in Italy to
Switzerland agrees to grant the Italian law enforcement authorities in the asbestos scandal against the will of the Suva legal assistance. This was decided by the Federal Court. It's about numerous dossiers Suva Italian Eternit workers who had come into contact with asbestos.
(AP) Prosecutors in Turin has for many years a criminal investigation against an unknown perpetrator because of multiple manslaughter. It is about Italians, who worked at Eternit AG and Italy in a tumor caused by asbestos - have died - a so-called mesothelioma. The Italian authorities had first arrived in 2001 with a request for legal assistance from Switzerland.
In January this year ordered the interrogation office Glarus, the publication of numerous documents to the Italian authorities. These included documents from the Eternit AG Suva and 196 dossiers of employees, of which 62 ill and 16 died in Italy. The Italians worked 1950-1993 at Eternit AG. Both the Eternit AG and Suva had set itself against the legal aid to defend, but flashed from the Canton of Glarus Court.
The complaints to the Federal Court were unsuccessful. The Lausanne judges came to the conclusion that the award is contrary to the legal assistance from a purely legal point of view no obstacle.
Suva had argued in Lausanne in particular, the legal aid technique constitutes a pure fishing expedition desire - a so-called fishing expedition - is the Italian authorities and ultimately aims to review the activities of Suva. The latter, however, stand only to the Federal Office of Public Health or the Federal Council and not "foreign judges". Legal aid therefore contrary to the "ordre public".
Whether the "public policy" is injured and precludes the disclosure of the documents to the Italian investigation authorities, however, decided in another proceeding. A similar complaint was filed, Suva in January 2006 at the Justice and Police Department. After completion of the now by the Federal Court proceedings are determined, the Department and, if found to have about the Federal Council.
